Glastonbury Tor - Guided Imagery

Glastonbury Tor
There was within the realm of King Aethelstan a certain royal island know locally from ancient times as Glastonbury. It spread with numerous inlets, surrounded by lakes full of fish, and by rivers suitable for human use, endowed with sacred gifts.

Glastonbury is said to be the centre for the 'dragon currents' the terrestrial forces which connect the whole earth by a complicated network of energy flow. The Glastonbury Tor is thought by some people to be the Holy Grail, the goal sought by Gilgamesh and many heroes of old. The cup, it has been suggested, is the spiral labyrinth which encircles this cosmic power point.

One local story speaks of a hollow space inside the Tor, a place of magic and mystery. Another suggests that the spiraling mound has an entrance to the underworld.

Whatever, when I entered the gateway and began to follow the pathway that led to the pinnacle it seemed that there were naturally spiraling ridges that wound themselves around the mound - a subterranean path that I should follow.

We descended to the Chalice Well, a timeless and sacred place, full of legend, symbolism and atmosphere, a place whose history has no beginning.......

The people of old saw the wells as gateways to the spirit world where the veils between human existence and the greater spirit became thinner, and communications could take place with the gods and goddesses of the nature religions.

When I lay down for a nap upon the Pennyroyal in my Lemurian Garden I dream of a film that I reach up my hands to tear down. I dream of a film between two pillars that veils what is beyond. I want to know ,what is there, in the ethers behind the film. I know that we are on the edge of something. Humans are about to take the leap. My whole being seems to be concentrated on getting the courage to tear down this film, to open the door. To see the new beginning. To be reborn. (Trendle Ellwood)
